Alabama 5-star signee Keelon Russell gets brutally honest as rival teams try to flip him with NIL offers
Keelon Russell, the QB everyone’s been buzzing about, had a lot going on with his recruitment. He had three big-name schools trying to flip him from Alabama just before he officially signed. Can you believe it? Teams like Colorado, LSU, and Texas were all vying for him during the media day at the Under Armour All-America Game!
Russell mentioned that “big offers were thrown around,” but he didn’t spill the exact numbers. What stood out, though, was how Alabama really made an impression on him early on. He said the Tide had the “most competitive offer in ‘his heart’” because they started recruiting him before he even started getting a ton of recognition in his senior year. He went on to share a rather revealing story: “Alabama came to one of my worst practices as a quarterback. I was off that day….and saw something in me.” It’s nice to see a school believe in you, right?
He also had a visit to Colorado lined up, and his family was considering it for a bit, but they ended up backing off because of some rumors. You know how that recruiting drama goes!
Anyway, the exciting part is that Alabama is set to have Russell on campus in January. It’s about to get interesting.
