Let me tell you about this intense football game that happened on November 2. It was a big showdown between two of the top five teams, and unfortunately for Penn State fans, they ended up losing pretty quickly to Ohio State. The game actually started off with Penn State looking decent. They managed to put together a drive that led to a field goal after about eight minutes of play.
Things took turn on Ohio State’s first drive. That’s when Zion Tracy made an incredible play by intercepting a pass from Will Howard. He took it back 31 yards for a touchdown after a successful PAT, which put Penn State up 10-0 in what was a crucial Big Ten matchup. It was a wild start, but despite the game’s outcome, Zion has been such a dedicated player for the program.
What’s really heartwarming is the role his parents, Zaire and Katrina Tracy, play in his life. Even though we don’t have a ton of info about them online, it’s clear they’ve instilled some strong values in him. There’s this saying that goes, “Football shows character rather than develops it,” and it seems like Zion’s parents paved the way for him to shine on the field, literally laying out rose petals for him.
Zion isn’t just about football, though; he also believes in giving back to his community. You can see the influence of his mom in this too. Just recently, he posted on Instagram about raising $ 7,540 for Cam Wallace’s community in Mount Vernon, Georgia. They donated all the proceeds to Better Together Christian Community Church, which is just so awesome.
When you look at Zion’s football journey, it’s pretty impressive. He started out at St. Thomas More School and then moved to Long Island Lutheran High School, where he really showcased his skills. In his final year there, he ended up with 500 receiving yards, 12 touchdowns, and even had three interceptions. His teams had fantastic records, going 8-0 in 2019 and 7-1 in 2021, partly thanks to his efforts.
After being recognized as a four-star recruit and getting plenty of college offers, he decided to commit to Penn State in September 2022. As a freshman, he played in all 13 games and made some significant contributions, especially on special teams and defense. He wrapped up his first season with 13 tackles and even earned Special Teams Player of the Week honor from the coaching staff. His sophomore year saw him really step up, including a pick-six in that notable game against OSU.
